Oldie but Goodie

The last time I was at B Bar, one of the guys from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy came out of the bathroom stall next to me. ( that was circa 2004) I'm always in the neighborhood but tend to forget about this place. Not sure what the night life is like at B Bar anymore but I was there Sunday afternoon for brunch. The bloody marys were flowing and the sun was shinning. It was a great way to end the weekend!

Wine on the High Line!

Met up with an old fling at Terroir in the East Village. Food is great but I don' t love the ambiance here. The place is really small  with one long communal table set right smack in the middle of  the room. All I could focus on was what was going on with the date to the left of me and to the right of me.
However, this bar is worth mentioning because they have a stand at the High Line.  Its located near the 15th Street entrance.Wine + High Line = Summer Bliss!

Tapas

Spent the day with Amanda doing what we do best... eating and drinking. We indulged in  delicious tapas and a pitcher of white pomegranate berry sangria at Las Ramblas. Make sure to check the chalkboard for daily specials.

* The restaurant gets crowded and doesn't take reservations.*

Street Food

Now that the weather is changing, food trucks are the best way to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the sunshine. I can't think of anything better than sitting at a park, enjoying great food with great company. For something new and innovative, follow my friends at Miami Food Machine.

In-Between

In-Between

Not quite Winter, not quite Spring...The weather has been interesting in NYC lately. The sun shines longer but its been a bit brisk. These have been my go to pieces this week. Longing for open toe shoes!

Bar Veloce

If I were to  open a wine bar, I would probably model it after Bar Veloce. Who doesn't love a bar that plays clips of old foreign films, has a great list of paninis on the menu and a bartender with a killer mustache? (*disclaimer* bartender isn't a hipster, he's what hipsters wish they could be )
The  pictures I have posted are of the East Village location, It  was expanded and remodeled last year. I prefer the Chelsea location. It's a bit smaller and cozier. There's a new location opening in the West Village on Houston Street.

Buscemi Bunny

Went to the Easter  Parade today. It wasn't your typical parade with floats and marching bands but it was very whimsical. I didn't know what to expect  but being a hat lover  I was in heaven. People walked up and down 5th Avenue wearing very elaborate Easter Bonnets.  Steve Buscemi was in attendance wearing a pretty dapper top hat. My brother and I had such a great time , we are thinking about participating next year.

Ballin

Had an awesome Easter lunch with the little Bro at The Meatball Shop. The special meatball for the day was the Bunny Ball. I stuck to the classic beef ball since I spent most of that morning with bunny loving, bonnet wearing parade goers. The chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich was to die for.

The Face

The Face

The one piece of advice my mom always gave me was : "Spend money on your face its the first thing people see". I'm not sure if I have her to thank for my vain mind set. I pride myself on the fact that I look 22 and not 32..... call it good genes or an obsession with aging. The one thing I can not live without is my daily routine of putting on my face and nightly routine of taking it off.
Here are a few beauty products that I love.

1. Fake Eyelashes- MAC lashes #7 are my favorite but getting to the MAC counter isn't always convenient. So I usually pick up a pair of Ardell lashes ($4.00) at Bed Bath and Beyond. I tend to stick to #109, #136 or the Demi Pixies.

2. Lipstick- I've been sticking to a neutral eye and wearing a bold lip. Here's a little tip: use a toothbrush to scrub any dead skin off your lip before applying.

3. Sunblock- even though most liquid foundations come with SPF, I always make it a point to apply Aveeno Sunblock lotion. I use it all year round. Remember, your skin isn't something you can change.

4. Eyeliner- I read somewhere that men are attracted to lined lids. It enhances your feminine sensuality.

5.CeraVe- Always, Always, Always clean and moisturize your face!

6. Green Tea - Green tea has always been know to help reduce swelling and discoloration under the eyes. I usually make the tea and pour it into an ice cube tray. Whenever I feel like my eyes are in need of some TLC, I pop out 2 green tea ice cubes and hold them on my eyes for about 5 minutes. I also rub the ice cubes all over my face when I feel like I wake up with a puffy  face.
