Brooklyn Bound on the L Train

Located a few blocks from the Bedford Ave L train stop, The Brooklyn Winery is worth schlepping into Williamsburg for.. The ambiance is super relaxed with picnic styled tables in  the front bar. Now that the sun is shinning a little longer their  atrium is  the perfect place to sit and have a few drinks.  The staff members are knowledgeable but aren’t pretentious wine snobs. One of the Winery’s unique features is that they offer wine on tap…which is so Brooklyn but none the less makes for a new experience.

Buvette

42 Grove St
(between Bedford St & Bleecker St)
New York, NY 10014

Buvette holds a special place in my heart! This little gem located in the West Village just screams romance.  I’m not sure if it was  the French wine, the French waiter or the jazz music but I fell in love there……. and of course it was over in a New York minute. It’s the type of place where you gaze into each other’s eyes all night and feel like you’re the only ones around. Then suddenly, he gets up and asks you to slow dance in a restaurant full of onlookers. Okay, okay maybe I’ve gone too far! None of that really happens but the ambiance makes you feel like you have transported to a quaint cafĂ© in Paris. So,  if you are ever in the West Village looking for a place to grab a cappuccino or a glass of wine, make sure you stop by Buvette.

"Wine beats whine every time"

Listen up Fellas!!! Every guy should know the very basic when it comes to wine. Ladies love it! Let’s face it, wine bars are a panty dropper.  If you want  to impress a girl on the first, second or even third date , I would recommend taking her to a wine bar.

For something low key yet classy, my recommendation would be Gottino. From the music selection to the downstairs bathroom area, I love everything about this bar.  It’s small and intimate. The long white marble bar is a perfect place to grab a drink or two. Table service is available towards the back and there is an outdoor garden. Tables are small and don’t seem to fit parties larger than 3. The staff is extremely friendly,...so much so that the bartender actually went out of his way to hail a cab for one of their guest. If your date is going well and you don’t  want to part ways, their food menu features a great selection of small plates.
